Although the Army had begun to issue desert-colored name tapes and “US Army” tapes, most soldiers in the Sinai still wore the green and black patches they had previously worn on their Woodland BDUs. Since 1981, the US Army has provided the headquarters and an infantry and support battalion to the international peacekeeping force in the Sinai to prevent hostilities between Egypt and Israel. This DBDU coat belonged to one of the soldiers assigned to this duty with the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO).

This patch was authorized in 1991. The organization was reflagged as the Soldier Media Center in 2006. The shoulder patch for the US Army Human Resources Command (HRC), which was established in 2003 to provide personnel services, records keeping, and administrative guidance for the Army.
